This themeism is based, as a benchmark, on the vertical equivalent hydraulic conductivity (Kz) of the unsaturated zone.The soils identified by the approximately 2000 stratigraphies of the unsaturated zone have been grouped into litological classes and each of them has been assigned a hydraulic conductivity value derived from the literature.The vertical equivalent hydraulic conductivity was calculated considering the thickness of the unsaturated zone divided by the sum of the ratios between the thickness of each individual litological level present within the unsaturated zone and its hydraulic conductivity.In this way, approximately 2000 punctual data of vertical hydraulic conductivity were obtained, which were then interpolated according to a statistical method.
