The main labour market indicators are reported with reference to the ISTAT Continuous Detection of the Labour Forces (Rcfl) divided according to the NEW SERIES and the OLD SERIES.
With the Working Forces’ Continuous Detection (Rcfl) of 2021, ISTAT has introduced several innovations especially in the definition of employment status, according to Regulation (EU) 2019/1700 of the European Parliament and of the Council, in force since 1 January 2021.
According to the new survey, the following are considered:
a. persons who, during the reference week, worked for at least one hour for remuneration or profit purposes, including unpaid family workers;
b. persons who, during the reference week, are temporarily absent from work because they are on leave, with flexible hours (vertical part-time, recovery hours, etc.), in sickness, maternity/compulsory paternity, in vocational training paid by the employer;
c. persons on parental leave who receive and/or are entitled to income or work-related benefits, irrespective of the length of absence;
D. seasonal workers who, during the low season, continue to carry out regular tasks and tasks necessary for the continuation of the activity, excluding the fulfilment of legal or administrative obligations;
e. persons temporarily absent for other reasons in all cases where the expected duration of absence is three months or less.
