As part of the Extraordinary Remote Sensing Plan (PST), in 2008 the Directorate-General for the Protection of Land and Water Resources launched, in collaboration with the Regions, a collection of data belonging to the IFFI inventory, which the Regions themselves, with their own resources, continue to update. In order to provide a complete and up-to-date picture of the distribution of landslides, information layers have been prepared organised according to the geometries and some types of movement starting from the regional databases, appropriately homogenised. The Landslides Catalogue project contains the following information updated in 2009: Identification Points Franosis Phenomenon (PIFF), Linear Frans, Polygonal Frans, Areas, Gravity Deformations Profsante (DGPV), Directions. In particular, the Information Layer Areas represents all the polygonal landslides classified as areas subject to widespread collapses/tippings; areas subject to widespread sinking; areas subject to diffuse surface landslides. The information layer shows those landslides with significant surface and mapable on the 1:25,000 scale (minimum size = 1 ha).
