Sheet 43 is the eastern sector of the Gulf of Taranto. The platform presents its linear eyelash located around 110-120 m deep; along the continental escarpment, on the other hand, there is a widespread presence of landslides, developed and active in areas with higher slopes; whereas where the slopes are relatively minor, structures indicating a beginning of the phenomenon of transfer of sedimentary cover to the basin have been observed. There are also several linear engravings. The articulated morphology presented by this margin is mainly linked to the presence of direct faults, with Apennine direction, which affect the substrate and, in all likelihood, have been active in recent times.
