The sheet is located in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea, north of the northern coast of Sicily. It affects the western part of the volcanic arch of the Aeolian, Alicudi and Filicudi, and the underwater volcanoes Sisyphus, Enarete and Aeolo. The underwater part of the island of Alicudi has in general regular flanks, without obvious traces of erosive processes and gravitative instability. On the contrary, the island of Filicudi shows irregular hips and engraved by numerous erosive grooves. The critical point facing Filicudi Porto is represented by an underwater canyon whose head indents the platform, which in this area of the island is extremely small. The retrogressive activity of this canyon could affect both the security of the port structure and the hamlet of Filicudi Porto, located at 6 m above sea level. The volcanic building Eolo develops west of Alicudi and is characterised by a flat-top caldera bordered to the south by a series of small conical buildings. The sides of Eolo have eroded grooves and small landslide niches separated by volcanic alignments. Eolo is a potentially active volcano whose eruptive potential has not yet been verified but the presence
a caldera suggests a possible catastrophic activity. There are 4 critical points (volcano, horst, gravitative instability, canyon). CNR-ISMAR
