The Foglio 30, located in the Channel of Sicily, concerns the
seabeds surrounding the island of Pantelleria, including the submerged portions of the volcanic building of Pantelleria, the north-western basin portions of the homonymous rift and part of the continental escarpment that borders the basin to the west. The platform is wide and continuous in the NW sector, where it extends for about 4 km from the coast line up to about -120 m, while it is irregular and with a maximum width of about 1.5 km in the SE sector, due to the progressive dismantling linked to erosive processes; otherwise, along the sides NE and SW the platform is often absent or underdeveloped and has an eyelash at about -100 m. The submerged sides of the volcanic building are characterised by
numerous features related to volcanic activity, represented by secondary conical buildings, eruptive cracks, lava flows and erosion wrecks, present at various depths, both in the coastal and
along the deepest portions. Two critical points related to landslides and volcanic centers were detected. CNR-IGAG
