Magic Sheet 39 Crotone — Map (OpenData)

Sheet 39 covers a part of the Ionian coast of Calabria, and includes a very large portion of the marine area that includes the city of Crotone and extends from the area overlooking the Neto Canyon to the Alto di Capo Rizzuto. The marine area includes a relatively extensive (mostly detected) platform morphobatimetric environment in the Calabrian margin (max. 7 km) and a continental escarpment environment that includes the southern portion of the Neto Canyon headboard, the Esaro Canyon and its tributaries. The shelf break, when visible, is located at a depth of about 80-120 m depth. The southern part of the Foglio is characterised by a basin area (1 650 m) that represents the current basin of Crotone. There are 2 critical points, which include a canyon headboard and some detachment niches. OGS
