Magic Sheet 65 Piscinas — Map (OpenData)

Sheet 65 is located in the Sardinian Sea and is located on the central-western edge of Sardinia between the Gulf of Oristano and the mouth of the Rio Piscinas in the central-southern sector of the amphitheatre of Oristano. The internal platform, between 50 and 60 m deep, is characterised by a low slope (about 0.2 °) and an extensive sedimentary coverage with large dune areas detectable by the morphobatimetric relief. Between about 60 and 120-130 m of depth the lithoid substrate emerges, engraved by channels attributable to the paleo-hydrography of the periods of low sea level parking. In the external platform there are flat-headed buildings with circular shape, interpreted as buildings volcanics attributable to the Plio-Pleistocene cycle. The edge of the platform, in the northern sector, it is deeply engraved by the head of the Oristano canyon. In the central sector of the sheet a canyon engraves the edge of the platform with a tape head conditioned by the presence of sub circular lithoid outcrops of volcanic nature. The escarpment in the southern sector of the sheet is characterised by the presence of two fields of pockmarks. There are 2 critical points related to a canyon warhead and an area with pockmarks. The scientific body responsible for the sheet is the CNR-IAMC.
