Magic Sheet 67 Bosa — Map (OpenData)

The sheet is located in the Sardinian Sea and is located on the continental margin of central-western Sardinia, between Torre Poglina and Capo Nieddu. The sheet falls within the sector between the high structural of Nurra and that of Sinis and includes terrestrial sectors on which emerge almost exclusively volcanic soils. The sheet covers an area of about 1925 sq km, of which about 250 sq km fall above -50 m and about 139 sq km above the bathymetric of –700 m. The platform areas are characterised by extensive outcrops of lithoid substrate whose structuring only partially controls the width of the platform, which varies between 40 and 28 km. The seismic stratigraphy of the background and the mild seismic activity of the margin therefore outline a picture of relative stability along this stretch of coast, if one excludes some critical points that concern the escarpment areas. There are 2 critical points related to a fluid spill area and a diffuse erosion area. The scientific body responsible for the sheet is the CNR-IAMC.
