Dataset description

Phytoplankton monitoring network, pursuant to Legislative Decree 152/06. The stations for the quantitative determination of phytoplankton are located on 7 transepts perpendicular to the coast (Lido di Volano, P. Garibaldi, Casalborsetti, Lido Adriano, Cesenatico, Rimini and Cattolica) and 0.5 and 3 km from the shore line. The number and location of survey stations makes it possible to carry out a sufficient assessment of the magnitude and impact generated by algal blooms and existing pressures on the coastal strip. The frequency of investigation of phytoplankton is fortnightly.
