Dataset description

Phytoplankton monitoring network, in accordance with Legislative Decree 152/06. The stations for the qualitative-quantitative determination of phytoplankton are located on 7 transepts perpendicular to the coast (Lido di Volano, P. Garibaldi, Casalborsetti, Lido Adriano, Cesenatico, Rimini and Cattolica) and distant 0.5 and 3 km from the shoreline. The number and location of survey stations make it possible to carry out a sufficient assessment of the magnitude and impact generated by algal blooms and existing pressures on the coastal strip. The frequency of investigation of phytoplankton is fortnightly.
