Dataset description
Grayscale images from aerial photos in digital orthoprojection with pixels of 50 centimeters. The aerophotography ‘Volo GAI’ curated by IGM and carried out by the consortium ‘Italian Air Group’ in 1954-55 is the first stereoscopic recovery of the entire Italian territory. In the plain areas, frames were taken at altitudes around 5.000 m, resulting in a scale of approximately 1:30,000; this flight is a valuable historical document of the territory in the immediate postwar period.
