__The dataset contains the list of information on parks, villas and gardens of particular interest of public property.__
Villas and large country residences characterise in a particular way the landscape of different Italian and European regions, thus constituting a vast historical-artistic heritage as evidence of a specific settlement form deeply linked to the conservation and development of the rural landscape. This type of settlement, to which the value of historical, cultural and environmental heritage must be recognised, consists of a set of elements strongly connected with each other and with the surrounding territory to form a particular landscape complex.
The Department for Agriculture of the Umbria Region, in collaboration with the 3A- Parco Tecnologico Agroalimentare dell’Umbria, has prepared a study on some of the many parks and regional gardens. The information is merged into a [dossier available in.pdf](https://www.regione.umbria.it/documents/18/3518875/Ville+Parchi+giardini_UnSegnoDistintivoDelPaesaggio.pdf/6a37f8d5-6bd8-439e-8733-225303833ad7) which collects and puts into system diversified sources, some of which derive from the consultation of existing documentation (where available), others derive from in-situ inspections and direct sources (interviews with owners).
The studies were carried out in 2012.
