Dataset description

The toponyms are the names of geographical places and concern the localities, cities, mountains, rivers, lakes, and other places known with names typical of the local tradition. All toponyms are classified according to the location in which they fall and the type of cartographic object to which they are referred, according to a shared encoding both at national (IGM) and international (FACC) level.
