The regional allergenic pollen monitoring network managed by ARPAE consists of 10 stations located in the provincial capitals (with the addition of Cesena), located at densely populated areas. The preparation of samples and their reading under the optical microscope shall be carried out according to quality criteria which refer to the following [evaluation standard](https://www.arpae.it/cms3/documenti/_cerca_doc/pollini/conteggio_pollini_spore.pdf).
The monitoring network of ARPAE Emilia-Romagna is part of the Italian Aerobiological Monitoring Network (POLLnet), an initiative of ISPRA and the Environmental Agencies System.
On the regional territory are also active other survey points that operate in the standard defined by the AIA and managed by bodies, USL companies, etc.
The centres of S. Giovanni in Persiceto (BO), S. Pietro Capofiume (BO) and Faenza (RA), transmit the data to ARPAE and are currently included in the regional bulletin of allergenic pollen.
