Project \“Rovigo walled city\”

“Rovigo is a walled city” is a project that unites, in a synergistic process, the activity of the Technical Institute for Geometris “A. Bernini”, the Institute of Higher Education “E. De Amicis”, of Italia Nostra and the Municipality of Rovigo in the research, protection and promotion of the city, its culture, its vestiges, its history. With this initiative you want to  filling a legal but also cultural vacuum. Thus lay the foundations for discovering a “invisible” monument: the medieval walls still surviving and in  most of it is incorporated into the houses built along its path. This first operation produced a detailed file of the sections of the walls today visible and a tourist map that proposes an interesting tour itinerary accompanied by descriptions and information translated into different foreign languages.  Action is therefore taken to safeguard and enhance the existing historical walls, considered as an added value both for the buildings that house them and for the historic centre of Rovigo and its entire territory.
