Public Institutions: staff in service at local units for Ateco sections and divisions, gender and class of staff in service

The dataset contains information on the local units of public institutions detected by the Census of Industry and Services 2011. Public institutions are legal and economic units whose main function is to produce non-market goods and services and/or to redistribute income and wealth and whose main resources consist of compulsory withdrawals from households, enterprises and non-profit institutions or non-repayable transfers received from other institutions of the public administration. The variables detected concern the actual staff in service at the local units of the institutions by class and gender of the actual staff and the Ateco section and division of the unit. In particular, actual staff in service means employees, whether indefinitely or for a fixed period, engaged within the administration, regardless of their membership; staff seconded or seconded to other administrations is excluded and includes seconded or seconded staff from other administrations. This includes employees with an atypical contract of employment, such as workers with a coordinated and continuous collaboration contract (CO.CO.CO.) and/or project collaborators (CO.CO.PRO.), workers with temporary employment contracts (so-called administered work, or former temporary work), workers with an employment or training contract and work and socially useful workers.
