Regional Water Budget

Regione Lombardia approved the Regional Water Budget with Decree No XI/2122 of 9.9.2019 and subsequent Decree No XI/2583 of 2.12.2019. The water balance is the scientific basis on which to build actions to pursue the objectives of quality and quantity and, more generally, all the policies of territorial development that affect the environment and the use of water resources. The result of the elaboration of the Regional Water Budget is here in summary represented by the relative shape files that express the anthropised and naturalised flow rate at closure to natural water bodies, in terms of mc/s. Anthropised flow rate is the flow value under the current conditions of use of the water resource; the naturalised flow rate represents the estimated natural flow value from a measured data, purified by anthropogenic effects (e.g. withdrawals). The use of a model approach has allowed us to estimate the reference rates first anthropised then naturalised, closing to the water bodies of the main Lombard tributaries of Po and their first tributaries. Through the 2006 PTUA regionalisation procedure, applied to the hydrological component of the reference flow rates, it was possible to determine the regionalised flow rates, first naturalised then man-made, for the remaining water bodies.
