Dataset description
Vector-type geo-referenced database containing areas reporting travertine deposits, mainly associated with sources or “Limestone Precipitating Springs”, measured at a scale of 1:10,000 in the Emilia-Romagna Apennines and approximated to polygons. The table contents differentiate the unpublished data (taken from the author’s personal knowledge) from those obtained from existing databases, such as the regional databases of the Emilia-Romagna Apennines Geological Charter on a scale of 1:10,000 or the Habitats Charter of Emilia-Romagna. Also indicated are the stratigraphic-structural domains to which the geological units within which the reports are found belong.
