Dataset description
The possibility of professional fishing is restricted in several portions of the waters in front of the coast of Emilia-Romagna. The main restrictions are due to the presence of underwater platforms and pipelines for the extraction and transport of hydrocarbons; in the presence of biological protection zones (ZTBs) and repopulation of fish (nursery) and environmental protection (marine protected areas, SCIs and SPAs). Hazards of fishing unexploded ordnance deposited on the seabed and other activities related to military defence may further limit this activity.
