River contexts of landscape relevance

The dataset represents the river contexts referred to in Article 16(3)(a) of the PIT/PPR framework and in Article 6(b) of the PGRA rules of the Northern Appennino District. River contexts identify segments of the territory characterised by a physical, morphological, biological and perceptive continuity with the water body, also in view of the presence of elements historically and functionally interrelated to the good itself. These areas are of particular interest for safeguarding the environmental, cultural and landscape characteristics associated with the hydraulic grid, for the management of hydraulic risk and for the protection of optimal water outflow regime.
