Dataset description

Data collected from the National Mareographic Network-RMN composed of 36 measuring stations uniformly distributed on the national territory and located mainly within the port facilities. All stations are equipped with a local data management and storage system and a real-time transmission system (UMTS) at the ISPRA headquarters in Rome. Moreover, in 9 strategic stations for the measurement of particular phenomena (anomalous waves) there is a second satellite data transmission system with IRIDIUM technology that guarantees the connection even in the presence of black-out situations of the UMTS system.
