Dataset description
The data allow to visualise the location, altitude, depth and stratigraphy of wells and geognostic surveys carried out in Lombardy. As of 31 August 2022, the database contains 28,840 surveys divided between direct surveys (mainly wells and polls) and indirect surveys (penetrometric tests) distributed in the provinces of Bergamo (1389), Brescia (4880), Como (1286), Cremona (1661), Lecco (853), Lodi (557), Mantova (5434), Monza Brianza (3023), Milan (4029), Pavia (2867), Sondrio (383), Varese (2278). For each survey, it is possible to view and consult data on location, altitude and depth. There is also a feature that — by querying the survey point — allows you to view the stratigraphy of the survey and publish it in.pdf. For indirect investigations, a scan of the original of the test is available. Through the tool “Linked Data” present in the map service and through the download service of the Geoportale of Lombardy, it is possible to download the entire database and the location of surveys and evidence in.csv and.json formats. The stratigraphy of direct surveys shows only the geological data (number of layers crossed, thickness and lithological description of the same). The litological description corresponds to that shown in the original stratigraphy compiled by the subject who performed the work materially. There is no information on the ownership of the work (public or private), use (water, irrigation, agricultural, etc.), completion schemes (type and structure piping, presence, depth and type of filters, installed water extraction equipment). The location of the works is inferred or verified to a large extent in the analysis tables of the geological component of the PGT, predisposed to the scale of 1:10.000. Reference should therefore be made to this scale in general with regard to the accuracy of the location itself. A manual is also available in annex, to help the user to find all the documents, processes, raster and vector data that Regione Lombardia makes available in the framework of the CARG Project, as well as to illustrate the functionality of the map and application services related to the project.
