Territorial assistance

The Provincial Health Plan, in accordance with the provisions of national legislation, provides for the essential level of “district assistance”. The objective of the level is to ensure the following performance: 1. Basic Health Care 2. Territorial health emergency activities 3. Pharmaceutical assistance provided through local pharmacies 4. Supplemental assistance 5. Outpatient specialist assistance 6. Outpatient and outpatient assistance 7. Residential and semi-residential territorial assistance 8. Thermal assistance. The basic medicine service includes the functions of prevention, health education, as well as the outpatient, home and semi-residential treatment of morbid forms and incapacity through interventions of 1st level and emergency intervention of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative type and, again, the promotion through residential treatments, the recovery of the autonomy of non-self-sufficient and elderly people. Within the territorial area, the health district, technical-functional unit of the Basic Medicine Service assumes strategic importance. The enhancement and promotion of the health district are now established principles and criteria of health policy of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. The health district is added to the social district. Both have the same catchment area and have a common seat that brings together all the services of both the health district and the social district. The entities managing social services are the Comprehensive Communities and in Bolzano the Social Services Company of Bolzano. In all social districts, at least socio-pedagogical assistance, social economic assistance and home care are offered. For larger districts, in addition to the headquarters there are support structures, defined as reference points.
