# Event of 18/10/2018 — moderate/high hydrogeological risk for the Cagliari area.
From October 13rd, a new Atlantic disturbance moves towards the Iberian Peninsula. This is forced to head towards the western Mediterranean by the contemporary expansion north-east of the Azores anticyclone over Western and Central Europe. The depressionary circulation on the Mediterranean produces moderate or intense precipitation on Sardinia between 14 and 19 October. The highest cumulative station in 24h is Pausania Temple with 89 mm, of which 44 in 3h for day 18, while the 19th the rainiest station was Gairo with 23 mm.
Cagliari’s rain stations measure 14 mm on October 18th, with a maximum intensity of almost 7 mm in 15 mm at 6 and do not measure any precipitation on day 19.
