On November 1, a baric minimum over Iceland extending to the western Mediterranean is slowly moving eastwards, producing between 2 and 3 a baric minimum on the northwestern Sardinian Sea. The eastward displacement of this disturbance produced, between the day of 3 November and that of 4, intense rainfall over the whole of Sardinia, which were locally intense or very intense. The highest cumulative precipitation station for Day 3 was Urzulei with 73 mm (22 mm in 1h), while the 4 was Santu Lussurgiu with 78 mm in 24h and 51 mm in 3h. Cagliari’s rain stations measured 13 mm on 3 and 39 mm on November 4, with about 30 mm precipitation between 7:45 and 10:45 and a maximum intensity of 5.8 mm in 15 minutes from 9:30.
