The service dynamically produces the map of potential soil erosion risk. The map was developed by the Study Centre for Soil, Environment and Landscape of the former ARSSA in collaboration with the CRA-RPS, developing 2 specific environmental indicators (erosion and organic carbon) using data from 1799 georeferenced soil profiles with: altitude, slope, horizons and related granulometric analyses (percentages of sand, silt, clay and organic carbon content) and precipitation data (monthly averages) from 17 rain stations of the national network (source CRA-CMA). The digital model of the land with 30 m resolution (source ASTER) and the soil use paper (source Corine Land Cover) were also used. The estimated amount of eroded soil (t/ha x year) in the region was made using the revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE). The results of the RUSLE were represented as potential erosion (i.e. without cover factors and practices for soil conservation) and the value assigned to the INSPIRE network cells is the average of the values of the 30 m cells inscribed in each cell 1x1 km.
