The criminal penalty “Compulsory Work” may be imposed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office or by a court as a penalty for criminal offences committed by a person.
A person who has been subjected to forced labour must do so free of charge for the benefit of the public. Employers can be state or municipal institutions, capital companies, agencies or associations, foundations, religious organisations.
In the dataset, forced labour units are available with the following cross-sectional variables:

* type of place of performance (State/municipal or NGO or Religious Organisation)
* number of hours worked

* level of education
