Dataset description
INSPIRE WMS is a geographical name service. The data for geographical names shall be harmonised in accordance with the INSPIRE implementing rules. Therefore, the dataset of Latvian geographical names has a common structure with other data created for the INSPIRE theme across Europe. The functions are represented by a vector (point) component with designations containing more details of the names. The data set is based on the Latvian Geographic Names Database (Geonames).
