High resolution layers 2012
Year 2012: high-resolution layers — provide information on specific land surface cover characteristics and are suitable for land cover/land use mapping, e.g. in CLC datasets. HRL is created from satellite imagery with a resolution of 20 m using a combination of automatic processing and classification based on interactive rules. To date, five themes have been identified that correspond to the main CLC themes, i.e. compacted soil (tightness), tree density and forest type, (semi-)natural grasslands, wetlands and permanent water bodies.
