Dataset description

Pre-1940 educational audio-visual document (German cards) on a traditional activity in Oesling: flax. It is picked (by hand) in July. The seeds are separated from the stems, which are then sun-dried. When sufficiently dried, the stems are discarded by peasant women wearing the traditional cap, then spun like wool. The skewers thus obtained go to whitening before turning into rope or canvas to make bags.
