As regulator of the electronic media sector, ALIA is called upon to give its opinion in the following cases:
when applying for a concession for an audiovisual media service (television programme and on-demand service),
when requesting permission for a high-power radio service (national radio coverage),
prior to the withdrawal of a concession or permission by the government.
The opinions of ALIA are of an advisory nature.
The Authority may give its opinion on any other matter related to the regulation of audiovisual media services if it deems it necessary.
