As the regulatory authority for the electricity and natural gas markets, the Institut Luxembourgeois de Regulation is required to report on its activities and on the performance of its tasks in the electricity and natural gas sectors to the national and Community authorities. For example, European Directives 2009/72/EC on the electricity market and 2009/73/EC on the natural gas market provide in their respective Articles 37 and 41 that regulatory authorities submit an annual report on their activities and the performance of their tasks to the competent authorities of the Member States, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (‘ACER’) and the Commission.
