The Uniform Product Name List is a list of uniform naming for the products and services of the Dutch government. Every government organisation is free to determine what its products and services are and what name it gives. Especially in municipalities, this ensures a multitude of products and services, which are essentially the same. To improve the findability and reuse of product information, the Uniform Product Name List (UPL) has been developed.
The UPL ensures synergy in the heterogeneous product range. The uniform product names are used to unambiguously integrate government product information into facilities, regardless of governance, naming or granularity.
The list currently consists of uniform product names of provinces, water boards and municipalities, plus products from the national government. Includes features of products and services such as legal basis, target group, theme, comes-for-if. The dataset can be requested in different formats for both humans and machines. The UPL is part of the Co-operating Catalogues standard.
