Agriculture; economic size class, type of business, 2000-2009

This table provides information on the number of farms in the Netherlands, the utilised agricultural area used by these holdings and economic size of companies. This information is presented for total Netherlands and for the various (main) types of holdings and classes of economic size of the companies. The data for this table come from the agricultural census. The agricultural census is part of the combined task carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is used for this includes the implementation of agricultural policy and the enforcement of The Fertiliser Act. In the agricultural census, a lower limit of 3 NGE is used. At companies with less than 3 NGE should think of, for example, a company with a maximum of 2 dairy cows or a maximum of 2 are green peppers. Data available: 2000-2009.
