Agriculture; from 1851

This table contains data on agricultural holdings from 1851 onwards. This includes data on: — the number of agricultural holdings — the number of regularly employed agricultural workers — the area of crops (including total agricultural land, set-aside and grassland) — the size of the herd — the yield of crops — the production of livestock farming. The data are mainly based on the agricultural census, which started in the nineteenth century. Data available from: 1851. Status of the figures: the animal and plant production of 2021 is still provisional, the other figures are final. Changes as of 22 April 2022: the 2021 figures have been added, the 2020 figures have become final. When are new figures coming? The data for the past year will be added in April.
