This table establishes a relationship between the municipal classification (the lowest administrative level in the Netherlands) on 1 January 2012 and various subdivisions of the Dutch territory at upper-municipal level.
With the information from this table, figures from municipalities can be added together, so that figures can also be calculated at upper-community level.
The table is composed of:
— Nationwide coverage areas. These areas are usually made up of municipalities that cover the whole country together, e.g. provinces and COROP areas.
— Non-national coverage areas. These areas consist of municipalities that together do not cover the whole country, for example city regions.
— Areas classified by size class (based on population) and degree of urbanity (based on environmental address density).
For each municipality, the table shows which upper-municipal areas the municipality is part of. On the other hand, the corresponding municipalities can be searched for in the parts of the country, provinces and COROP areas.
In addition, two statistical data have been added to the table for each municipality: population and environmental address density.
