Not applicable.
The Aid Fraud Statistics (BFS) only contains data on alleged fraud cases that have been investigated and registered by the Dutch municipalities.
Making statements on the total amount of assistance fraud committed is not possible on the basis of this file.
In order to rule on the total amount of fraud detected, the BFS was supplemented by data from the Assistance Debtor Statistics (BDS).
Research has shown that this supplement does not reflect the correct picture of the total fraud.
As of November 2009, CBS decided to end the publication of the total fraud.
