Dataset description
This table contains data on the total number of asylum applications submitted and the number of first asylum applications in various countries in Europe and the European Union.
The figures for the countries in this table come from Eurostat;
the statistical office of the European Union. The United Kingdom left the European Union on 31 January 2020.
Then until, the United Kingdom was part of the EU28.
Data available from:
2008.
Status of the figures:
The data are final, except for the year 2021.
Changes as of May 2022: The provisional figures for the year 2021 have been added.
The country Montenegro has been added to the table.
When will new figures be published? The Figures for 2022 will be published in April 2023.
