Dataset description

The number of aircraft movements, the number of passengers, the amount of cargo and mail at Dutch airports of national importance. Overview of the content of the EU figure in this publication: The composition of the European Union until 2004 (EU-15): Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and Sweden. In 2005, the European Union (EU-25) was expanded to include: Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Bulgaria and Romania were added in 2007 (EU-27). Croatia was added in 2014 (EU-28). As of 1 February 2020, the United Kingdom left the EU. Data available from: 1997 (annual figures) and January 1999 (monthly figures). Status of the figures: The figures until 2019 are final from January 2020 onwards. Upon receipt of newer monthly files from the airport managers, it may be necessary to update older data of the current year. Upon receipt of the full annual stock, the monthly figures will be finalised and the final annual figure will also be available on StatLine. As of 21 August 2020, the figures for Maastricht Aachen Airport for the reporting period 2018 and 2019 have been updated as a result of updated information. As a result, the border totals for the years 2018 and 2019 have also been adjusted. Until December 2020, the data on the United Kingdom were taken into account in figures from EU countries. This is in order to ensure the comparability of the data. As of January 2021, data on the United Kingdom will be included in ‘Other Europe’. Changes as of 5 August 2022: The figures for June 2022 and the second quarter of 2022 have been added. When are new figures coming? New monthly figures are usually published 1 month after the end of the reporting period (calendar month).
