The Base Registration Underground (BRO) contains data on geological and soil construction of the Dutch subsurface. In the coming years, the BRO will be completed step by step. Each step, the BRO contains more and more data about the deep and shallow surface. These are ordered on the basis of so-called ‘registration objects’.
In total, these are about 26 registration objects. The content is partly fixed and partly negotiable. Examples of registration objects are the groundwater monitoring well or the geotechnical probe study.
These registration objects are divided into six domains:
— Groundwater monitoring
— Groundwater use
— Mining law
— Soil and soil research
— Soil quality
— Models
Planning: the BRO is under development and is built up in tranches. More information: https://basisregistratieondergrond.nl/inhoud-bro/planning-4-tranches/
Re-use: in principle, all data in the BRO are freely and without restrictions accessible to everyone. Only where legal regulations require this, data will be protected. This is only the case with mining law data that are less than five years old.
More information for re-users can be found at: https://geoforum.nl/c/datasets/bro
