This table contains figures on the benefit status of young people aged 15 to 27 at 31 December of the reference year by region. The benefit position of young people is divided into benefits or no benefits. The types of benefits, such as unemployment, incapacity for work and assistance and assistance-related benefits are also included. The number of young people with benefits in this table is lower than in other StatLine tables on social security because young people not residing in the Netherlands or whose place of residence is unknown are not included in this table.
A young person can claim multiple benefits. These may include benefits of the same kind, for example, two incapacity benefits, or benefits of different types, such as unemployment and assistance benefits.
In the latter case, the younger person is included in both types of benefits. In the first case, only once in the case of disability benefits. In the total counts, the person is counted once. As a result, the sum of the categories is not equal to the total number of young people with a benefit.
