This table shows the price developments in the stock of existing owner-occupied dwellings by type of dwelling. The number of transactions, the average selling price and the total value of the selling prices of the dwellings sold are also published. The price indices for existing owner-occupied dwellings are based on a comprehensive record of house sales by the Kadaster and WOZ values of all dwellings in the Netherlands. Index series may fluctuate, for example when the number of transactions in a region is limited. It would then be advisable to use long-term developments in price indices. The average selling price may show a different trend from the price index of existing owner-occupied dwellings. Indeed, the evolution of the average selling price is not an indicator of the price evolution of existing owner-occupied dwellings.

Status of the figures:
The figures in this table are immediately definitive. The calculation of these figures is based on the number of notarial transactions established by the Kadaster each month. A revision of the figures is carried out only exceptionally, i.e. only if there is a significant error outside the usual statistical margins. The number of existing owner-occupied dwellings sold can be calculated again by the Kadaster at later times. These figures are usually the same as those published on Statline, but in some periods they differ from each other. The cadaster uses the most up-to-date figures in these cases. These may have been modified since the first publication. The CBS uses figures from the first publication in accordance with the revision policy set out above.
