Brook valleys (functional layout) (OGV, 2010) (history)

The Environmental Vision was adopted by Provinciale Staten on 2 June 2010. Maps 1 and 10 show the brook valleys. The systems of water, nature and agriculture are considered carriers for the spatial development of Drenthe and must be sufficiently robust and disruption due to development has no significant impact on the functioning of the system. Within the robust systems, in principle, the development of the main function (in this case water) is paramount. On the vision map (map 1) the robust systems are indicated with a global boundary that is made more specific in municipal zoning plans. Map 10 (Water Framework Directive) lists a number of ecological targets for streams, including the possibility for streams to flood.
