This table contains annual data on the calculation of the national receivables balance from gross domestic product. The national debt balance is the difference between the Netherlands’ claims abroad and the debts of the Netherlands to abroad. The national receivables balance shows how much the combined economic sectors of the Netherlands can lend or have to raise in terms of current and capital transactions.

Status of the figures:
The data from 1995 to 2020 are final. The 2021 data is provisional.
Amendments as of 24 June 2022:
2021 data have been added to this table.
Dividends in 2019 have been revised: non-financial corporations pay less dividends. Dividend payments to households and abroad are increasing. As a result, the data of a number of time series in the national balance build-up changed in 2019.
When are new figures coming?
Provisional figures shall be published after six months after the end of the reporting year. After 18 months, the final figures will be published.
