Business dynamics; employers, company size and industry

This table contains figures on the evolution of the number of employers over a period of three years. Among other things, the table provides information on the total number of employers at the beginning and end of the three-year period and on the number of employers who have seen the number of employees growing or shrinking in the three-year period. The data is broken down by industry/sector according to the 2008 Standard Business Classification (SBI 2008) and by some size classes. This table has been developed for the State of SMEs programme. Data available from: 2013. Status of the figures: The figures in the 2021 table are provisional, other figures are final. Amendments as of 24 June 2022: Data for 2021 have been added, which have been updated for 2020 on the basis of information made available later and are now final. When will there be new figures: New figures are expected by mid-2022.
