This table shows for a number of countries the (future) development of population ageing and degreening. Not only the years 2000 and 2010 are presented in this table, but also the expected ratio in the future. Ageing and degreening have an impact on labour supply and the balance between workers and non-workers in a society and thus on the business environment. Please note: In order to make an international comparison possible, the figures presented here use internationally comparable definitions, which sometimes differ from the definitions normally used by CBS. As a result, differences can occur between these figures and national figures published elsewhere on the CBS website. Data available on: 2000-2050, 10-yearly. Forecasts at the end of 2013. Status of the figures: The external source of these figures provides regularly adjusted figures. These adjusted figures are not identified as such in the table.
