Business environment; key figures internationally compared to 1990-2009

This table provides key figures on population and economic development for 60 countries. These are the following basic indicators: — gross domestic product; — gross domestic product per capita; — export of goods and services; — export of high-tech goods; — foreign direct investment, incoming; — added value in the services sector; — population size. These indicators provide an overall picture of a country’s economic size and trading position. National economic development determines the basic climate in which businesses operate. Good economic development creates a favourable environment in which companies can function properly. Please note: In order to make an international comparison possible, the figures presented here use internationally comparable definitions, which sometimes differ from the definitions normally used by CBS. As a result, differences can occur between these figures and national figures published elsewhere on the CBS website. Data available from 1 990 to 2009. Status of the figures: The figures are final.
