Business environment; society, 1990-2013

This table presents a number of social factors relevant to a country’s business environment for a number of countries. It is important for the activity in a country how the attitude of the inhabitants is towards work. Whether they prefer part-time work or are inclined to change jobs quickly. Political choices influence the room for manoeuvre that entrepreneurs have and the incentives for people to go to work or not (expressed here in terms of benefits and minimum wage). This table provides information on job mobility and part-time employment, benefits and minimum wage for a number of countries. Please note: in order to make an international comparison possible, the figures presented here use internationally comparable definitions, which sometimes differ from the definitions normally used by CBS. As a result, differences can occur between these figures and national figures published elsewhere on the CBS website. Data available for the years 1990 to 2013. Status of the figures: The external sources provide regularly updated data for previous periods. These adjusted data have not been identified as such in the table.
