On the basis of emission calculation per emission cause, the Emission Registration generates a national CO2 emission total, which is also distributed by the Emissions Registration to municipalities. To calculate this distribution, the Emission Registration selects the most optimal distribution key for each emission cause. This includes traffic intensity (vehicle-kilometres) for emissions from road traffic. Emission Registration publishes CO2 emissions per municipality and for the Netherlands as a whole and quantities of used vehicle fuel (e.g. petrol, diesel, LPG) and energy content for the Netherlands as a whole. For example, a CO2 emission total for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Region can also be calculated by cumulating the municipality’s totals. The database shows the total CO2 emissions according to ER (scope 1, tier 1), total CO2 emissions excluding energy sector according to ER (scope 1, tier 1), CO2 emissions Traffic and Transport incl. motorways (scope 1, tier 1) for the years 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2013, 2014. The data file was obtained from the climate monitor database. https://klimaatmonitor.databank.nl/Jive
